Sunday Cruise (September 27, 2020)

Nice Sunday morning ride and a beautiful fall day to enjoy it. Rode to a number of places such as the National Museum of the US Air Force to see the C-17 there. That is the prototype model by the way, as there is a lot of history within and outside of the museum. Enjoyed some early fall color at Carriage Hill Park, rode past a group of motorcyclists getting together for a group ride. Sadly came across a car crash near the end of the ride at 235 and 40. Found out a while after getting home that there was a death there. With that exception it was a very nice day out on the road.

First Ride of Fall (September 25, 2020)

Beautiful weather and a good time to see some early signs of Fall color during a ride to Springfield and into Snyder Park there. Nice old park which reminds me of some of the parks in Louisville, Kentucky and Richmond, VA with the old stone work and the old buildings/structures there. Nice place to explore and both these photos are from there (above and below). Will have to check out the history of the place but sure made for a great first ride of fall this year. Looking forward to some great adventures coming up soon.

Last Ride of Summer 2020 (September 21, 2020)

Last official day of Summer 2020, in what is hands down one of the strangest years I've ever experienced. In the days of the virus, grateful for my wife and this fantastic motorcycle. Have enjoyed wonderful adventures with both of them. Looking forward to Fall which is my favorite riding season. Love to see the leaves changing and frankly enjoy the cooler temperatures. On this last day of Summer rode into Fairborn where I got photos of the Halloween decorations going up. They do love Halloween there for sure! Will have more photos in the near future, thank you for visiting my pages.

Waco Fly-in (September 18, 2020)

Nice fall morning and got in a 40 mile motorcycle ride to the Waco Air Museum. Went to see if the Fly-in was going to happen, and looks like it will. I got a few photos below of some of the arriving planes, with more to come today. Going back there tomorrow with my wife and will have photos from that visit (with some others) on my "Ohio and Me" page. As for this had a great visit. Love aviation and biplanes and this was a nice motorcycle ride as well, so have to call this a perfect morning in Ohio.

Flight Ride (September 14, 2020)

Nice short ride on this fine Monday. Low heat and humidity and felt good once again to get my knees in the breeze. While I was out running around, so was this Air Force C-17. I live very close to the base and fun to see them up in the sky. As for me, rode into New Carlisle and down 571 for a time. Turned down a new road and explored a bit before heading back to the house after a fuel stop. I also saw a bit of fall color which can be seen in the last photo below.

Goat Ride (September 10, 2020)

On a very fine Thursday, felt like taking a ride and did so, another 31 miles on the odometer from beginning to end. Beautiful day as you can see, and rode through Enon, down some nice country roads to Young Dairy. Nice to visit there from time to time. A bit later than some rides so the cows were in the fields, but the goats were there. One was determined that I would feed him, so got a couple of quarters worth of food and gave him a snack. Interesting critter for sure, and a wonderful ride on this very fine day!

Labor Day Ride (September 7, 2020)

Actually this started before the ride, but was a beautiful sunrise. After a little coffee, did get the motorcycle out. Made a quick stop below at nearby Crystal Lake at the very start of my ride. Visited some cows this morning and rode country roads. Even got out and visited the donkeys at the nearby parks both George Rogers Clark and Carriage Hill Park.

It was not a very long ride in that I covered some 28 miles but its the ride not the distance and this was a wonderful ride!

Beer and Aircraft Ride (September 5, 2020)

Got up Saturday morning to cool temperatures and low humidity. Nice time to get a ride in on this "Derby Day" (in the days of the virus its been moved from First Saturday in May to today in Louisville). I got out to scope out Mother Stewart's Brewing in Springfield, Ohio. Not open yet but good time to look over the grounds for a future visit. In the days of the Virus its good to be separate outside, and I think they have it down. It is in an old warehouse complex, third photo below is an old factory.

Rode into Springfield and wandered downtown for a short while. I like the big old building to the left, which also houses a museum. That museum though is closed for the time being, once again due to the virus. I do like Springfield which has a number of interesting buildings and sights to see.

Had never been to the Springfield Airport and being somewhat of an aviation fan (which is evident to visitors to this site) I went to check it out for the first time. Not a lot of activity there at the airport which is also a National Guard site. No military planes were on view but did get to see some cool planes in the photos below. Big runways which was very neat. Not a lot of history on the airport but was a nice visit and a nice country ride outside of Springfield to get to it.

Rode back in and home with a total ride today of some 40 miles. Nice to get out and love the route I take to Springfield from home. I travel down Lower Valley Pike which is one of my favorite roads in the area. Nice day to get out and to get my knees in the breeze.

Last Ride of 2023 (October 27, 2023)

End of the ride here at home, sights below are during the ride. cCme across the Harley and the sidecar at the gas station. Talked with owner...
