Covered Bridge Ride (April 20, 2023)

Covered a day later many of the same roads as yesterday's ride but this time went further. I rode out to just outside of Troy, Ohio to visit the Eldean Covered Bridge. It is located between Troy and Piqua, Ohio. Dates to 1860 and can be seen in the photo at left and in the two photos directly below. It is in very good shape and is a cool structure to visit. Not my first time to do so, and certainly not my last.

Rode out there starting around 10am, beautiful day and very light traffic. Fun riding past the farms and the farm animals, and really enjoyed the ride.

In Troy, Ohio took a photo of the Courthouse there. Very cool building is the Miami County Courthouse. Was built in 1885 and is a striking building. One of the things I have noted here is that Ohio has some very interesting and beautiful buildings.

The oldest surviving building in Troy is directly below. The Overfield Tavern dates to 1808. It is now a museum but remains a very cool and historic building.

If you are interested, the historical marker which tells the story of the tavern can be found at the bottom of these photos.

It was a great ride and some remarkable weather for this time of year these past two days. Thank you for visiting my pages.
