Another hot day again with a heat index of over 100, but 74 as I got out this morning. Ran some errands while out but also rode some backroads in a 22 mile ride.

Just Like Florida (June 30, 2026)
Up just after dawn for a 22 mile ride on this hazy, hot and humid day. Went on a trip for a few days, got back yesterday. Yesterday and today temperature will reach the 90's with a heat index of 105 degrees! Rode out to George Rogers Clark Park in hopes of seeing deer...and did...on a very quiet morning. Was a very good ride!

Errand Ride ( June 23, 2026)
Had places to go in New Carlisle and Huber Heights, Ohio and went the long way. Covered 29 miles at 60 degrees. Very comfortable ride and glad to get it in with a very rainy forecast over the next few days.

Father's Day Ride (June 21, 2026)
Not just that, also first official day of Summer. Today did a 26 mile ride at 68 degrees. Went back to the museum to see if the biplanes were still there (nope, departed for home). Still, always sights to see there, and a good ride around Fairborn so no complaints.

Stearman Ride ( June 19, 2026)
First of all, Happy Juneteenth. A great day in American history. Got out on the Triumph and rode into Fairborn. Then, rode out to day one of the Stearman Fly-in. Stearman made planes from the 1920's. Most notably they made training aircraft in World War 2. These are what have arrived so far. Was a great ride today, about 36 miles and temperature in the low 70's.

Morning Cow Ride (June 14, 2026)
Wonderful weather. Not humid and 69 degrees ( a big change from the past few days here) so got out and got in a 28 mile ride. Ran an errand in New Carlisle where I also saw planes, then out down some country roads where cows were chilling out. A beautiful ride!

Overcast Putt ( June 10, 2026)
Looked ominous out, but with the rain forecast of the past few and upcoming days, thought I'd get a quick ride in. Went 22 miles on a very humid day. Clouds kept the temperature down, but still feels like a mid-80 degree swamp. Still a nice country ride with a bit of Fairborn, Ohio thrown in.

Monday Ride (June 8, 2026)
After yesterday's ride, did a little motorcycle maintenance and cleaned the bike. Took an early morning test ride. All good! Another good reason to go is expecting rain later today, and for the next couple of days.
Beautiful sunrise in the clouds, and a couple of photos in George Rogers Clark Park. Rode some 22 miles. Was 70 degrees and humid but a very nice ride!

Sunday in Springfield (June 7, 2026)
After a rainy Saturday, a beautiful Sunday ride into Springfield, Ohio. Rode by an old Tumbleweed Restaurant. Closed many years ago, chain was a favorite in my louisville days.
Rode thru Snyder Park, always a beautiful place. Saw the arch there (doubt it would satisfy tRUMP but I like it). Made a short stop at The Pennsylvania House which served as an Inn on the National Road. Was built around 1830.
Rode 34 miles and the temperature was 81 degrees.

Piano Ride (June 5, 2026)
No, you don't see that every day. Yes, that's a piano in a cornfield. Saw it while out today on a 20 mile ride today. Was 79 degrees while out. Very nice ride both out in the country and in Huber Heights. Expecting some days of rain again next few days starting tomorrow. So wanted to get one on.

Back to Huffman Prairie (June 3, 2026)
After our return from Grand Lake St Mary's, and a nights rest, rode out on the Triumph. Saw some classic cars locally, then rode into Fairborn where I chatted with a Monster.
Out to Huffman Prairie, sign explains it all. The hangar while a replica is still true to their design. Was a nice 32 mile ride, just over 60 degrees.

Dam Ride (May 31, 2026)
Up this Sunday morning, temperature is 65 degrees and sunny. Enjoying these dry days after those days of rain last week. Rode out to Vandalia to Taylorsville Dam. Great Miami River is still up. Stopped at Jim's Doughnuts - was outstanding! Drove through Carriage Hill Farm before getting home after a 40 mile adventure.

Cow Ride (May 29. 2026)
After days of what turned out to be record breaking rain this month (over 10 inches) have had a beautiful day under clear blue skies. Got out and rode out down some beautiful country roads. Visited a cannon, cows of course and rode down a flag lined road ( called Liberty Road). Did some 40 miles and loved every one of them!

Pre-rain Ride (May 26, 2026)
Got out for the first time in 8 days on the Triumph. Been a long period of daily rain. We have gotten over 7 inches. Need it, but damn. Got in a 35 mile ride, before the next batch. Creeks and rivers are way up.

Morning Putt (May 18, 2026)
Another sunny and warm day. Got out early with things to do but still over 70 degrees with more 80s ahead later. Got out in the country even saw a deer dash across the road. Had to make a stop just before getting home for some families out for a stroll.

80 Degrees (May 17, 2026)
Today I, along apparently with every motorcyclist in the area, got out on a beautiful Sunday. Had some errands to run, and the Triumph is my favorite way to do it. Covered some 30 miles, hey have to throw in some fun along the way. Stopped in New Carlisle and Enon...with a stop in between by the Advance One Room School which dates to 1878. A fun day to ride!
