Late November Ride (November 28, 2020)

November is winding down and December is just a couple of days away. Expecting snow in the next couple of days, and I can feel the motorcycle riding season in Ohio is slipping away. Rode today with the temperature in the 40's. I was surprised to see a number of motorcycles though out today, I passed somewhat over 10 which considering the temperature was very surprising.  I got out andf saw the New Carlisle Christmas tree, and of course rode by the airport. Did a few miles out in the country, in fact about 40 miles on what was a very good day indeed. I was well bundled up but did feel the cold a bit even with all that.

Around the Air Force Base (November 20, 2020)

Nice break in the weather again, another warmer than usual day and took advantage of the day and got the motorcycle out for a late afternoon ride. Took a ride out to the National Museum of the United States Air Force, and checked out a few of the planes outside, and then rode into Fairborn for a short while to see some of the decorations for Christmas going up.

After that rode into Enon and finally down Lower Valley Road into Park Lane and finally  back to my house. Ride was a bit longer than usual of late, a total of 35 miles. Not sure if there will be many more rides like this in 2020. Certainly colder weather is starting to make its appearances and temperatures even in the 50's are going to get fewer and fewer.

Nonetheless, it was a great time out on the motorcycle on a beautiful day.

Brisk Ride (November 13, 2020)

This time last year, there was snow on the ground, saw that from Facebook memories. Today, no snow, but much cooler than the last time I rode the motorcycle. Then it was in the 70s just a few days ago, today...it was 54. Nice to get out, but certainly could really feel the difference. Was dressed for the ride which took me to Fairborn where I took the very bottom photo. Top photo and the one directly below were taken near (in the case of the top) and at home in the one just below that. Good ride though short at 25 miles today.

Carriage Hill Farm Ride (November 10, 2020)

Another remarkable day with sunshine and temperatures in the mid-70's, and once again I took full advantage of the weather and got out on the Speedmaster for a ride around the area. Took a 25 mile ride around some of my favorite local roads and then stopped at Carriage Hill Farm. The farm dates to the late 1800's and is much as it was left back then. I love to see the old buildings and the old farm equipment as well as the animals there. Carriage Hill Farm is a place I go to often and enjoy the peace to be found there. Sure has been a wonderful few days of riding here in Ohio.

Young's Dairy Ride (November 9, 2020)

Another out of the ordinary November day with beautiful sunshine and temperatures in the upper 70s which is some 20 degrees warmer than normal. Once again took full advantage. Rode out to Young's Dairy which is near Yellow Springs. Ride takes me down some fun country roads and the goats and cows are fun to see. Lots of people there and though I did not partake this trip, they have some great ice cream.I also enjoyed a bit more of the fall color. Leaves are rapidly falling but still some beauty to enjoy. Ride was very good and covered some 30 miles. It was a blast being out today.

Huffman Prairie Flying Field Ride (November 7, 2020)

Just a beautiful day to be out in early November, as well as remarkable with a temperature in the 70's. There were a lot of motorcycles out enjoying it and I was one of them. I rode out to Huffman Prairie Flying Field, which is a very interesting place. I took a photo of the historical plaque which is the fourth photo below. That explains what the site is below and to the left in the photos. Last photo was of some of those many motorcyclists I mentioned also out riding. The hangar in the photos and the tower to launch the Wright Flyer III seen in the two photos below are replicas, but pretty exact ones. I rode some 30 miles yesterday and enjoyed each and every one of them.

"Halloween" Ride (October 30,2024)

Due to a rainy and windy Halloween Day forecast, got out the day early on October 30, to take a last look at the decorations (of which only ...
