Taking the Long Way Home (September 28, 2019)
It was Saturday afternoon, and Debbie needed me to go out and get her something from the store. Picked this mode of transportation to do so, and enjoyed it greatly. It was a good day for a short ride as the sun was in under clouds and the temperature which is still Summertime hot was down a bit. After visiting the store, went back to the house via the long way. Did not get into trouble with the wife because I think that she expected that. Still it was only a one hour ride and stopped by this old building. A few of these around here, they have a World War 2 sort of look. Ride was under 40 miles but I had a great deal of fun.

Friday Ohio Wanderings (September 27, 2019)
Fun Friday ride on a cool but beautiful day. Ran to Enon and then via some back roads to Young's Dairy Farm. The three photos below were from there. Being early was among the first people there. After that rode to Yellow Springs. Wandered some there, and that is the forth photo below. It is always a nice town to explore. Finally rode into Fairborn which included a ride though much more than photos 5-7 below show. Heading back toward home I returned to Enon which is where I saw the Indian motorcycle below. Finally got a photo of me with the new sunglasses in the last photo. It was a very nice ride on a beautiful day.

Halloween Horror Design Ride (September 20, 2019)
. Nice day to get a ride in. Rode to the bankin New Carlisle, then to Springfield (which is where I got the "big building shot" at the bottom below). Rode from there into Enon, and then on to Fairborn. There I came across what I assume is a Haunted House and got the photo above and at right plus the two directly below. It was a wonderful day to get out and enjoyed the temperatures and the sunshine. It did get hot and humid near the end of the ride. Total distance was a bit over 40 miles and did like the places I visited. Have been to all of them, but got to explore different areas on this trip. Looking forward to my next adventure!

National Cheeseburger Day Ride (September 19, 2019)
Pretty good morning. Nice to get out after a few days spent in Michigan (see my Ohio and Me page for a post on that visit) and it was a fine day to ride. Got a message before it from a friend that today was National Cheeseburger Day. To be honest never knew that existed but does give a good name for the ride.
Weather was perfect with blue skies and cool temperatures. Made a few stops on the ride with one at the post office and another to pick up my new eyeglasses. Photo of me with them in below in the photos. I have also noticed some fall color coming into the area, a couple of photos of trees are also below.
Also made a stop real quick at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. It is also there birthday which is pretty cool. As for the ride it was some 36 miles and had a great time. Looking forward to the next one which will be coming up real soon!

Motorcycling to Honda's and Aircraft (September 14, 2019)
Beautiful day to get out and ride. Been blazing hot (90s with a heat index close to 100) the past few days. This morning the humidity is way down and the temperature was in the 60's. A perfect day to ride.
Went out in the country route. Passed farms with cows, horses, a donkey and other animals. I also passed a blue heron and a evil looking Hawk (who watched me closely).
I got into Troy where I got the photo at left from a shop window. I also shot the four other photos below. Its a cool town and a good place to stop for a quick bite. One of my favorite places to visit as it is an old town with some interesting buildings. My wife and I a few weeks ago even went to the County Fair there and had a great time. Always something interesting to see and do there.
Made a stop at this Honda dealer which I saw from the breakfast stop at McDonalds in Troy. It was an interesting motorcycle shop and was my first time to visit there. To be honest there are not a great deal of motorcycle shops in this area which kind of surprises me. I do see a lot of Harley Davidson shops(though have not visited any yet) but while I see various bikes around not many Japanese or European bike shops. I have been and used Joe's Cycle Shop in Dayton and I think highly of them. I did enjoy seeing the new versions of the Honda Mini-Trail and the Super Cub. The Super Cub is the most produced motor vehicle in history.
Finally, finally found the Waco Aircraft Company. Of course, it was not open, but knew it was in Troy and have been looking for the location. I figured I would stumble on it, and finally did after multiple visits. I do plan to go back with Debbie during the upcoming fly in. I have a few photos from a walk around. By the way the plane in the last photo is NOT a Waco. Those planes are really something to see.
Anyhow, the ride home took me through Tipp City and New Carlisle on my way home. Made a stop early in the ride and one on the way back to get some things done. Not a huge ride maybe a bit over 30 miles, but a very nice one today.

Running Errands (September 10, 2019)
Three riding days in a row. Actually needed to get to a few places, and did that. Started at the bank. First time trip to Meijer's and it was ok. Simular to other stores I have been too. Stopped also by the Cemetery to see the military tribute there. I also went to Lowe's, Wal-Mart and had lunch at Captain D's. Not the best fish but liked the sides that came with it.
As for the ride, a hair over 30 miles. Got to explore some backroads and even visited the electric charging fuel pumps. Not really ready to go that route but I could see that some day. Range is a factor for now. At any case a nice ride before the big heat builds in.

Monday Country Ride (September 9, 2019)
The photo below is also there, one of the old locks from the former transportation system. Not sure if the boat below that is from the period, or a recreation, but it is also in the canal park in Tipp City. Grain silo is in New Carlisle, as is the airport where I took the aircraft photos. Noted the aircraft has been cleaned up as it was covered with green mold. Well done to who ever did that.
Heading back toward home, I took the last two photos. I loved the truck with the old gas pump and the bicycle in the back, and the sign, well...guess it speaks for itself. Ride was a nice one, temperature was in the upper 50's and as I got home got a few drops of rain as I put the motorcycle away.
