After a trip to Florida, Tennessee and Indiana for the past two weeks, got a ride in this fine day (got back yesterday). It was a nice ride, though a bit cooler than it has been here with a high in the low 50's. No problem though. I got a ride in to North Hampton, Springfield and back though Medway in an hour ride. What will be interesting will be to see what tomorrow brings. Expecting possibly the first snowfall of the year and temperatures much lower than today. This is the big cold front that is going to impact everyone as far south as the Gulf Coast. Will certainly be interesting to see what this brings. As for the ride today...it was wonderful.

Fairborn: Horror and Fall Color Ride (October 24, 2019)
Looking at the forecast for the next few days...and you can see it start to roll in during the ride in the last photo below) got the motorcycle out again. Rode around the nearby area of Fairborn. Back to the site of the last weekend's Halloween Street Festival (have photos of that on my Ohio and Me page) at left. Really wanted to get out to get a few photos of the fall colors which can be seen in the next two photos below. I was more dressed for the lower temperatures and the ride was very comfortable. This was a very good time and really liked being out on this very fine day.
The Fletcher Ride (October 23, 2019)
Beautiful day and decided to get the motorcycle out as the season starts to wind down. Snow coming in the next few weeks, got a feeling it is not far off. Cooler out but still not difficult to ride. Went past New Carlisle and then up 235 to 36. Usually I go right on 36 but this time did a left turn. Came to the town of Fletcher, a small town in the middle of a number of farms. Was a nice visit there as I wandered the cemetery and the covered bridge which can be seen below in the photos. Just a really nice day to get out without a cloud in the sky. It did get a little bit chilly but overall it was not bad at all.

Sunday Ride and the Highway Hikers Toy Run (October 20, 2019)
Interesting Sunday, which started with a ride around the area. One last look to find a spot to watch the ride for the early afternoon. Thought about riding in the Highway Hikers Toy Run, but thought it might be a good idea to observe it as this was my first chance to see it. Had been on a few toy runs when I lived in North Carolina. Never came across any in Virginia though sure they have them. At any case, was a remarkable ride and the photos are below. Had a great time with my wife Debbie enjoying the parade. It is a remarkable event and a wonderful start to the holiday season. Early but it gets really cold here in the next few weeks!
Saturday Ride (October 10, 2019)
Nice short Saturday ride. Rode up to George Rogers Clark Park and a few other stops. Was kind of looking for a spot to watch the Sunday Highway Hikers Toy Run. Made a few other stops and also visited the airplanes at the local airport. Motorcycle at the bottom was at the Fairborn Halloween Festival. I have more photos from that on my Ohio and Me blog page. Great day to be out on two wheels!

Historic Aviation Ride (October 10, 2019)
Third day in a row here in Ohio, got the Triumph out for a ride around the area. This time made a visit to the National Museum of the United States Air Force, which is not far from where I live. This is a really cool place to visit and a favorite of mine as well. Have not been into the museum for a few weeks and noticed some of the planes have been moved around a bit. Got photos of them and also of the outdoor garden (just a bit of that) in the photos below. The museum is a fantastic place to visit, and admission is totally free. As for the ride, coved some 25 miles today. One of the shortest rides but had a great time!

Country Ride to Troy, Ohio (October 9, 2019)
Nice midweek ride. Today went down Ohio 41 which takes me past farms, horses, cows and even one donkey today. Lots of farm equipment working as farmers are getting crops in. There was also some farm equipment traveling on the roads and as happened yesterday got behind one which eventually turned off. As for Troy, Ohio that is where I took the first three photos. Nice buildings there and very historic. The black and white building in the second photo below dates to The Civil War and was a Union Army recruiting station. Last photo I got at McDonalds where I stopped for lunch. Yes, it was for another McRib.

McRib Ride (October 8, 2019)
Fall sure feels like it is upon us. This morning woke up to temperatures of 41 degrees. So, waited a bit before getting the motorcycle out. First I ran a couple of errands and then headed to McDonalds for lunch. Seems that (as seen in the photo directly below) that the McRib is back. As it is a favorite of mine, and is just here for a limited time, I got one.
After that, got out for a bit out in the country. Nice time to ride and sure were a lot of horses out. Third photo below is just a few that I saw. At any case, it was a very good ride. I got a bit under 35 miles and enjoyed the blue skies, nice temperatures and the Triumph.

Feels like Fall...Ride (October 4, 2019)
Nice ride today, finally cooler temperatures. Fall is one of my favorite seasons. Came across this 9-11 Memorial in Beavercreek while out exploring. It was pretty impressive, and those are the three photos below. It was at this location at the left here.
While out stumbled across the two restaurants at the bottom. I want to eat at those. Jason's was a favorite when I lived in Richmond, and the pizza I had in Chicago some years ago...it was incredible. Those though are for the future.
At any case, a remarkable ride and sure enjoyed the journey. Ohio is a fun place to explore.

Dawn Patrol (October 3, 2019)
Good morning ride. Due to the heat (close to 100 today which is really strange for Fall) got out even earlier, which unfortunately put me really into the sun during a lot of the ride. Riding East at times...well, it was blazing. Still, it was a good ride. Covered quite a few miles. I visited the stage for the upcoming "Festival of Flight" event in New Carlisle, Ohio this weekend. I will be attending that with Debbie and will have photos on my "Ohio and Me" page.
Ride was cool this morning and looking forward to Friday when the temperature will FINALLY feel like fall.

Urbana Ride (October 2, 2019)
Blazing hot for the time of year, fall but still feels like summer. Covered some 64 miles today. Nice ride though to Urbana, Ohio. Enjoyed riding past the farms and smelling the "country air". Saw the downtown, was my first visit there and enjoyed it. I did not eat at the Farmers Daughter but may in the future. Like the tractor out there. Urbana in the four photos below. Nice town, and will be back there in the months to come.
I have one photo which I took at St. Paris, Ohio (5th photo below) and the last photo was of the old Tumbleweed Restaurant. Not sure when it closed, looked like some time ago. Was a favorite chain of mine back years ago in my Louisville days.
