Last Ride of June 2023 (June 29, 2023)

As you can see from my "Ohio and Me" Page, was in Rising Sun, Indiana the past couple of days. Got back on the third day, and got out on the motorcycle on this Thursday afternoon. 

Have a yard project planned on the last day of the month (tomorrow in other words) so got out on the Triumph for a short ride. 

The air the last few days can only be described as terrible. Getting a lot of smoke from the Canadian wildfires, it is really heavy in spots (you can really see that on my Ohio and Me page). Though not as smoky in these pictures, it was easily as bad. Air you can see and taste. 

That said though, was a good if short ride. Stopped in Legends in Enon, Ohio and then got out in the country for a while. Did not want to ride too long due to conditions, but enjoyed it. Thank you for visiting my pages. 

 

Hanging with the Herd (June 21, 2023)

A beautiful day after a few days of rain, and its also the first day of Summer, 2023. Got the Triumph out for a short ride on this fine day.

Had some things to do in New Carlisle. Did those and then headed down some of the local backroads. Due to the early morning, was able to get this photo of the farm and part of this road, which is one of my favorite roads in the New Carlisle area.

Made a stop at Evans Farm to get a photo of the cows. They have quite a herd and this is just a very small part of them. 

It was a very good ride, a little cool which was great. Knew it was going to be a lot warmer in the afternoon, and beat that heat!

 

Visited Turkeys (June 17, 2023)

Beautiful day to get out and get my knees in the breeze on this Saturday. Rode down some backroads early. 

The temperature would be rising to the mid-80's but was in the 60's when I took the Triumph out. Rode to the Turkey Farm out in the country. Impressive place and really has a slew of turkeys. Popular place especially around Thanksgiving.

Not a big huge ride today, but any ride is a good one. Had some yard projects to tackle today (and did those too) but this was a real fine way to start the day!

 

A Quick One (June 14, 2023)

A short ride today, had to make a run to New Carlisle, after a couple of days of rain. No better way to do so, then via Triumph. 

Nice getting out, cooler than it has been the past few days, almost a touch of Spring. Took this photo in "Downtown" Medway, Ohio which is a cool little town. I also rode a bit further, ended up doing around 25 miles today. 

Always fun to get out, and a nice day for it.
 

Fountain Ride (June 9, 2023)

Another beautiful day to get out. Though these started for the season a few days ago, got to Dayton to see the fountains for the first time this year. A beautiful ride and a beautiful day. 

Had to park nearby, due to construction in Deeds Park found a meter and walked to the fountains across the bridge. 

Coming across the Blue Heron and seeing the Wright Brothers Statue was a bonus.

 

Cow Ride (June 8, 2023)

Great morning ride. Stopped to see a couple of cows who came to the fence, was joined by these others. This sort of thing has happened before, and it always makes me smile. Said hello, and then rode on. 

Rode into Yellow Springs, Ohio. Known as the Hippie capital of Ohio, it is a very cool and fun town. Was there early so not much going on, but a very fun and wonderful place to visit .

Traffic was real light out of Yellow Springs on Ohio 68 so got to stop and get a photo of this former Gulf station just outside of Xenia, Ohio. 

As for the ride today, enjoyed the cool 60 degree temperature, and the beautiful weather this morning. Got in a hair over 40 miles today and enjoyed every one of them. It was a beautiful day for a ride in the countryside.

Sunday Morning Ride (June 4, 2023)

Great ride on a cool Sunday morning. Love the morning rides, no traffic to speak of other than the occasional car, and no heat. Rode out to George Rogers Clark Park. Hoped to see some deer. No luck there, but leaving the park did get to see a train. 

Rode into Enon via back roads. Stopped by the Indian Mound, and while in Enon saw the old truck there. Did some 40 miles, and had a wonderful ride.

 

VIsiting the Farm (June 2, 2023)

First 90 degree day of 2023, but cooler when I got up (around 77). Went down some backroads in the Enon, Ohio area. Nothing out in the fields, so went to see the animals at Young's Dairy. Always a fun place and they are glad to see me. 

Was a brief trip, but visited some critters and even fed a few goats. They have a small machine and can get a handful of feed for a quarter. That handful does not last long. 

Was a very nice ride and had a wonderful time. This weather looks to continue for a while

 

Hayride in June (June 1, 2023)

Been some beautiful days, warm but with low humidity. I love these mornings, and felt like a good day to get out and get a ride in.

Ride was to take care of business in New Carlisle. Seems they are harvesting hay and stopped by a field, though there were quite a few out in the fields today.

New Carlisle at the bottom. Was a quick trip there with two stops and then rode down some country roads. Light traffic around 8pm and a great day to ride. Then again though, every day is a great day to ride!
