Last Ride of August (August 27, 2022)

Nice ride on this beautiful Saturday morning in Ohio. At left is the fountain in Snyder Park just outside of Springfield, Ohio. Always a nice ride though this very nice park.

Directly below that is the Wescott House (probably not spelling that right) which was designed by the legendary Frank Lloyd Wright. Very cool house!

Stopped for coffee at Winans in Springfield, damn good coffee and like the mural on the building. Like to go there from time to time. Looks like they have very good chocolate too.

Finally, stopped by the New Carlisle Airport where I got the photo of the plane (a Cessna 182) and chatted with the pilot (an Army veteran) for a while about flying.

Was another fantastic ride. Looking forward to some beautiful fall riding in the next few weeks!

Ride to the Park (August 20, 2022)

Expecting rain later today and perhaps the next couple of days, so got the Triumph our for a while. Rode out to George Rogers Clark Park and down (and sometimes around) Lower Valley Road. It was as usual a beautiful ride. I did not see no deer today, but did see a number of rabbits which was pretty cool.

Nice as usual to get out. Put some chain lube on the motorcycle, checked tire pressures on the previous ride (and added a little air). Before the next ride, will be giving the motorcycle a bath as it is needing that due to all the road work being done the past few days which I have encountered on the last few rides (but avoided that today)

Lower Valley Pike Loop (August 18, 2022)

Ride turned out different than planned today. Was heading to Yellow Springs but it is "gravel and tar" season here in Central Ohio, so instead due to all the road work, took the detour. On the bright side it was a nice farm tour as seen at left, but could not get to Yellow Springs. Still great to be out on another sunny day. Temperature was right around 60 which was great. Middle photo was near home, and the bottom photo was at home.

Hills of Highway 201 (August 17, 2022)

Was at the Miami County Fair yesterday in the car with my wife, and enjoyed riding down Highway 201. Like an asphalt roller coaster, so went by there today on the motorcycle. 61 degrees this morning and sunny. Took photo at left on the way, stopped by Indian Creek Distillery on 201 to get the photo of the buildings. As for 201 one of the hills can be seen in the bottom photo. Nice Wednesday ride out in the country and had a great time.

Was a beautiful day to ride. As for the Fair photos yesterday, you can see that on my "Ohio and Me" blog.

Riding amid the Corn (August 15, 2022)

Simple short ride on this beautiful day. Took the Triumph down some country roads in the area. Under these skies, low humidity and temperatures in the low 60's, it was perfect.

Always nice to get out around here, went down some new roads while out and about. It is just a wonderful thing to be able to do, and I am always grateful after so many years of riding that I am still able to do it. It is just an amazing thing.

Looking forward to the next ride, and as always thank you for visiting my page.

A Ride and a Short Walk (August 13, 2022)

Another beautiful day, clear blue skies and 60 degrees. Took this as I got ready to ride. Rode out via some country roads. A little later than my usual ride so a bit more traffic but not too bad.

Took the photo below in Tipp City. Nice ride getting there, and a nice ride through it. Some cool old buildings and some very fine houses there from back in the day.

Rode to Ross Road where I stopped at the VFW and got the helicopter photo (Vietnam era Huey). Had not been that way in a while but came across the Charleston Nature Preserve and got off the bike for a bit and wandered down some trails. Those are the last four photos. Beautiful place and always fun to explore. One of my favorite parks in the area.

It was a beautiful day to get out, and a beautiful ride on this very fine Saturday morning!

Back to the Museum (August 12, 2022)

Back from a few days out of town and took a ride on this cool (57 wonderful degrees) Friday morning. I had seen where the museum had put the KC-135 which arrived a few weeks ago, on display, and rode out to see it. That is in the 3 photos below, as well as the other plane. Though an aviation fan, going to have to wait to see the sign on that unusual plane at the bottom.

It was an excellent ride!

Aviation Ride 2 (August 4, 2022)

Rain on the way, but still clear skies this morning. Rode just after dawn, saw this big bird on the base, and the deer at Huffman Prairie Flying Field. Great place to ride and a good place to do it. Third day in a row, a nice weather bonus for a Thursday in Ohio.

Aviation Ride (August 3, 2022)

Got out again ahead of rain later today. Saw these planes at left at the Air Force Base, visited the Wright Memorial, and the outside of the Air Force Museum on this beautiful Wednesday. Even got an "aerial' photo of Huffman Dam from the Wright Memorial. A fun ride, as they all are!

Tuesday House Ride (August 2, 2022)

Took photo at left at the start of the ride, quick stop in the neighborhood. Last two I took at home, was observed by a woodland creature. Good to get out, upper 60's but very sticky.

Rode down some twisty country roads, visiting some new places and roads. Got into a neighborhood by accident (the street sign said "Road" but some very cool houses such as the one seen directly below. Below that is the historic house at George Rogers Clark Park. The house in the park is very old, the one above it, much newer.

Good to get out, first time in the last few days and the first ride of August. Did 38 miles today, just a little out and about before the heat really builds.

Plan to ride again tomorrow, as we have a weekend trip coming up, and rain looking likely Thursday. Was as always wonderful and nice rolling on some British steel.

Last Ride 2024 (November 17, 2024)

Was a fantastic year of riding, with a number of great places and fun adventures. Got out on Sunday, ran a few errands, and got in a few mil...
