Saturday Early Cruise (July 31, 2021)

Nice ride with very wonderful weather here in Ohio. Humidity is real low and the morning temperature was in the middle 60's. In fact, we are due for a few days of highs in the 70's which is wonderful in my book. We also will have low humidity.

As for the ride was a bit cloudy and when the skies cleared still a lot of haze due to smoke from the wildfires out West. Enjoyed getting out though even with that. I got out in the country a bit, as you can see from the photos below.

Did make a couple of stops for fuel and a bank stop, while I was out. Ride was not very long being around 90 minutes and some 45 miles in all. Still it was very good to get out. Some birds were out, and also enjoyed rabbits and some other critters. Did not see any deer though I was hoping.

It was a good ride and hope to enjoy this great weather some more in the next few days. Thanks for visiting my page.

Monday Morning Ride (July 26, 2021)

Got out relatively early on this fine Monday. Heat and humidity are really expected to be bad later on, and in fact could feel it increasing during the hour that I was out in the breeze. These are some hot summer days. I did enjoy seeing the early morning sun and the cows along with other animals as I rolled down the farm roads around this area. I also got a short ride in at the George Rogers Clark Park.

It was a good ride and enjoyed it a great deal. Looking forward to my next adventure out on two wheels.

Riding in the Smoke (July 21, 2021)

Short ride today, lots of smoke from the Western fires, been like that now for a few days. Did get out for an hour though, and was a nice ride. After the ride, cleaned the motorcycle...the result is below. Was a good time out in the breeze, though some to get ride of the haze would be nice.

Plane was at the Air Force Base, its a C5A Galaxy. Biggest plane in the Air Force inventory, though the Russians have some larger transports. Still an impressive aircraft.

Ground Flying in Ohio (July 19, 2021)

After a wonderful day flying on a 1928 Travel Air biplane (first time to fly on one of those types of aircraft) which I have a story about on my "Ohio and Me" page, got out for awhile for some lower level turning and banking down some fine country roads in the area.

Love those early morning rides both because it is cool out and traffic is light. This is especially true on the country roads. I did made a stop at the New Carlisle Airport before really heading out. The Barnstormers Carnival was held in Springfield, Ohio. Met some really nice bikers while there and got some tips on future rides. '

This ride was some 90 minutes on a very beautiful day and in some fine sunny weather. Thank you for visiting my page and hope you have a great day!

Before the Storms (July 10, 2021)

On this Saturday, got out on the motorcycle before the rains come down. Expecting a wet few days and thought I ride before that was a very good idea. Indeed it was, got out in the country a bit under cloudy skies which got even darker, but avoided the rain. Saw some cows, rode down Medway and stopped for geese and ducks crossing the road. It was a short ride (45 minutes) but enjoyed every mile. It was a big plus that the temperature was just under 70 degrees. Perfect!

Before the Heat Ride (July 6, 2021)

Short Tuesday ride as the heat is really up again here, and went while it was cool out. With the heat expecting some rain the next few days. Good ride though (are there any other kinds?) . Rode past this very old house in Fairborn, and got a photo of the plane at the Air Force Base. I also got into Beavercreek, and got a photo of oneof the pizza places there. Damn fine pizza!

While out riding today, got the photo of the Indian Motorcycle below. SUNDAY while in Dayton got the photo of the old AMF Harley Davidson, and also of the really nice Honda which is the bottom two photos.

Was a good day out and greatly enjoyed the ride today. Looking forward to the next one!

Saturday Ride to Springfield, Ohio (July 3, 2021)

Once again as I did yesterday, fired up the Triumph for a morning ride on this beautiful Saturday. Headed out down some country roads at first with no real destination in mind.

It was 60 degrees so bundled up a bit. For a change I nailed it and was very comfortable out in the breeze. I like the early morning rides with very little traffic on the roads and lots of interesting animals wandering around (having to watch out for some of the bigger ones, which some of have antlers).

Ended up in Springfield, which was not my plan. Still, a very cool town with some amazing buildings. It is the county seat plus it has a lot of history. There is a building in town (which I did not visit today) designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (but it can be seen in a previous post from awhile back) I also saw a group of Harley's and even got to make a stop at a local classic auto dealer (they specialize in Corvettes).

Did not go as far as yesterday but it was a wonderful ride and I had a fantastic time here in amazing and interesting Ohio.

Motorcycle Ride to the Airport Cafe (July 2, 2021)

After days of rain and high heat, awoke this Friday to Sunny skies and a temperature of 70. Got out and got a ride in! Made a stop at St. Paris where I got the photo directly below, and then in the photos below that ate for the first time at the Airport Cafe at Grimes Airport in Urbana, Ohio. Good food and friendly people. I will be back with my wife in the near future. Used to love to do the same at the Chesterfield Airport just outside of Richmond, VA. Got in some 65 miles today, and it was fantastic. This is my kind of weather! I have more more photos on my "Ohio and Me" blog page.

Last Ride 2024 (November 17, 2024)

Was a fantastic year of riding, with a number of great places and fun adventures. Got out on Sunday, ran a few errands, and got in a few mil...
