Short Ride in the Rain (May 26, 2021)

A quick one this morning. Taken on the way home, rode out under very overcast skies, and while out the rain came down. I don't ride in the rain very often, ok with it (though can at times even with long pants, a helmet and jacket can be painful) but called it a ride and got the bike home. Got to dry it off and wipe it down, so in that respect it was a good thing.

Took this photo at a crossroads, nice here in that the county roads are here. As I often say, lots of farms and fields here in Ohio plus the very cool city of Dayton (among others). Got in like 12 miles today but was fun to get my knees in the breeze if only for a very short time.

Young's Dairy/Yellow Spring Ride (May 25, 2021)

First ride in a few days after the trip to Graceland and Memphis, Tennessee (photos on my "Ohio and Me" blog page) and went to a couple of my favorite places. Visited some critters at Young's Dairy and then made a stop in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Enjoy both place plus the good country ride to get there. Some of my favorite country roads can be found getting there and back. Ended up getting in just under 50 miles on this beautiful day, and had a great time.

Riding and a little aviation (May 15, 2021)

Another beautiful day to get out in get my knees in the breeze. Stopped for this photo, and enjoyed a nice short ride though some fine country roads. Rode past houses, farms and fields. Interesting area to ride in and a favorite.

Heading for home, saw this (believe its a) Piper Cub coming in for a landing at the New Carlisle Airport.  Got a couple of photos. He came around, waved at me and then took off again. Always enjoy seeing those planes fly. Lots of motorcycles were out today also, a lot of us in two wheels all seemed to have the same idea. Looking forward to the next ride down the road.

Bunny Beer Ride (May 14, 2021)

Beautiful day for a ride. After a long day of lawn mowing (at my house, but its a big yard) got out on the motorcycle for a glass of refreshment. Hairless Hare Brewing is located in Vandalia and they have some remarkable beer on tap.

I stopped for one (and one only) of their Irish Dark Ale and it was (as usual) outstanding. This is one of my favorite brew houses in the area. They make their own beer, and it is well worth a visit. Even better it is right across from the Dayton Airport. Sat in the outside seating and watched planes take off and land. On the way back home down the National Road (aka US 40) stopped at the Taylorsville Dam and got the photo below. An outstanding ride!

Best Damn Bar in Town Ride (May 7, 2021)

Pretty good day to get out. First ride in May and the first ride in a few days, been a few places and the weather has not been great for riding. Made a stop for a Barley Pop (aka beer, but just one) at The Villa. It is a sort of Dayton legend. Being afternoon on a Friday, not many there (two people to be exact) and as it was 50 degrees out, there was one motorcycle...which was my Triumph. Got photos of some sights there, and apparently they trapped a raccoon there.

Anyhow, a nice county road. Stopped by my favorite park and said hello to some horses there. Later stopped for a cup of coffee in New Carlisle, Ohio because...well, it was 50 degrees. Enjoyed the ride a great deal though. Beautiful day to get out and any ride is a great ride in my book.

"Halloween" Ride (October 30,2024)

Due to a rainy and windy Halloween Day forecast, got out the day early on October 30, to take a last look at the decorations (of which only ...
