Woke up Sunday Morning (August 30, 2020)

Nice Sunday morning ride. Woke up to cooler temperatures than usual, and for the first time in a long time, it was heavy jacket time. I actually enjoy that though, and felt great getting out in the breeze. As I often do, rode out down 571 to the airport in New Carlisle, and then into New Carlisle. Airport is the second photo and New Carlisle is the third photo.

Took a ride down US 40 which is a fun road and into Huber Heights. While there headed into Carriage Hill Park. It is one of my favorite Metroparks in the region (aw hell, its actually hands down my favorite) and visited some of the animals there and checked out some of the historic and old farm buildings to be found there. In fact, putting a few more photos on my "Ohio and Me" page today.

Total miles for the day was 32, not a long ride but sure enjoyed it a great deal. I expect this will be the last ride of August 2020, but looking forward to September rides!

Sunday Ride (August 23, 2020)

Got out for a short ride this fine Sunday. Like riding on Sunday..light traffic as can be seen at left. I started riding in New Carlisle where I dealt with some fog. Made a stop for cash and fuel there, got a trip coming up tomorrow. Rode into Fairborn where the photos below were taken. After that, rode for a while into Enon and finally the backroads ride down Lower Valley Pike to home. Nice day for now, expecting heat and humidity along with some rain perhaps later on today.

Friday Cruise (August 21, 2020)

Got out for a morning ride after my wife and I made a trip to the nearby Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Having seen that once again made a ride to the nearby New Carlisle Airport. There I watched this Piper Cub type plane fly around. Once in New Carlisle I got to see the new streetlights going up which are actually pretty impressive, and yes...will have some photos soon. Got out a while on some of the back roads. That included US 40 which is having the annual big yard sale. That yard sale is said to be one of the biggest in the country along the length of that impressive road. Not much for yard sales but I do find that interesting considering the size of it.
This though was sure nice to get out after the motorcycle being in the shop for over three weeks. Ride yesterday was a quick one, this one made a couple of stops..such as this visit to The Dock. Not open but have eaten at this restaurant in Eton, NC. Interesting little town a few miles from me and has much to offer. I have been there a few times since I have been there to see the Indian mound there, and yes, to eat at places such as The Dock which in my opinion is very good.

Rode for an hour on this day and enjoyed the cooler temps and the lower humidity. It sure feels great to be exploring the area on two wheels again !

On the Road Again (August 20, 2020)

Been awhile, almost a month. Could not get mad as know well that getting a bike in the shop in the summer is not a good idea. However, I had run out of options. That said, Joe's Cycle Shop did a wonderful job and the price was far less than I had feared. So once more I am back on the road again.

Got the bike and kissed my wife (who had taken me up there in the family car) and headed back on the 11 mile drive back home again. It did not take very long but it sure felt good to be back on two wheels again. Being a Thursday morning the traffic was very light and the weather was very nice too.

The day was not hot or humid though once again that is due to change with more of both expected in the next few days.

Had some things to do later in the day, so all too soon the ride was over but I had a great time getting out in the breeze and enjoyed after so long the feel of wind in my face and power in my wrist.

This is a fun motorcycle and it is good to have it back again. Looking forward to the days ahead. Fall is not that far away and is one of my favorite times of the year to ride. Once more, that is an option for the days ahead again.

Last Ride 2024 (November 17, 2024)

Was a fantastic year of riding, with a number of great places and fun adventures. Got out on Sunday, ran a few errands, and got in a few mil...
